FAQs

Yes. By law, you must maintain an active real estate license and your license must be assigned to a Real Estate Brokerage.

No. Never. Effective 2/28/2022 our community is free to join. (You must be a licensed REALTOR®)

Absolutely. You may search for Agent's in our Agent search directory. We believe real estate referrals are very much relationship based, so we encourage you to contact and interview Agents until you find the perfect match.

Search by map, State, County, Zip Code, Brokerage, Last Name, Agent specialty etc. You can also filter by Agent specialty and review their profile before sending them a referral. To send and receive referrals, you have to join the Referral Soup community. (Free to join)

$ZERO. Zip, nada, nothing. Effective 2/28/2022 Referral Soup is FREE. The only fee you will pay is the fee you negotiate with another REALTOR® for a referral. Referral Soup does not charge any fee to join and we don't charge any transaction fees.

Referral Soup does not participate in negotiating referral fees. When you submit a referral request to an Agent, you will have an opportunity to request your percentage of the real estate commission.

It will depend on the terms agreed to between the Agents.

Both Agents are provided with a referral dashboard. Each referral transaction will be updated by the receiving Agent and notifications sent to the referring agent when certain milestones are met. In real estate, there are no guarantees. We generate dated referral agreements, and provide a real time history log, but ultimately it all comes down to the honesty and integrity of each Agent.

Referral Soup does not police or enforce referral agreements. If you have concerns about getting paid on a particular referral, we suggest discussing the matter with your Broker.

That would be a HARD NO. Referral Soup does not sell Agent or Client info. We don't auction/sell leads or benefit financially in any way on referral transactions.  We do not market to, sell to, share or retarget any referral Client. From time to time we may share with you  an advertiser or affiliate offer on the website or through email. If you choose to act on that offer, we may receive compensation. It's how we keep the lights on and how we able to offer Referral Soup to you for free and we appreciate your support.

All referrals must be registered by you through this website. Doing so will date and time stamp the record and generate a Transaction ID. Use our generated email referral agreement or substitute your own, it's your choice. Generic details absent Client contact information are emailed to the selected receiving REALTOR® at which point they will call or email you to discuss in more detail. In some cases you might call the Agent in advance of submitting the referral and also to have them register on the website. Signed referral agreements are uploaded and stored on a secure server and a copy is emailed to you for your records.

We do recommend having a signed referral agreement bearing all signatures, including your Brokers.

We recommend you discuss this upfront with your referral agent and generate separate referral agreements for each transaction.

It varies. The referring agent will enter a suggested time frame in the referral request form.

Sending Agents submit a referral request using the Agent Search Directory. Receiving Agents receive an email notification of the referral request which includes a link to review, accept or decline the referral. If the referral is accepted, the full details, including Referral Client contact information is then displayed in the Agent Portal, together with a PDF agreement generated for download.

When the Receiving Agent accepts the referral online, the sending Agent will be notified, and the status changes to "Referral Accepted" in both Agent portals. If needed, there is a downloadable PDF agreement summary and agreement in the Agent Portal. It is then the Receiving Agents' obligation to contact the Referral Client and continue to update the Sending Agent using status updates in the Agent Portal. Each time the status updates, the Sending Agent is notified via email and can also track the update in their Agent Portal.

No. There are no per transaction or per referral fees. The only fee you will pay/receive is the one you negotiate with the Agent you are doing a referral with.

To submit and receive a referral in Referral Soup, real estate professionals must first create an account. To create an account you must maintain an active real estate license and affiliate with a licensed Real Estate Brokerage. If you want to receive referrals and show up in the Agent Search Engine then you will need to join Referral Soup.
